Screwed the structured section for the chem lecture test todae =(, hope the mcq can make up for it ... Haizz, always underperform during chem test, dunno y ...

Went to Bouna Vista CC today to request for an interview with project initiate, coze they keep daoing our emails =( . Managed to find the place after walking one big round but luckily the trip wasn't wasted, conducting the interview tmr =) .

A lot of things happened last wk. Played two more games with Mr Low on last Saturday, haizz, both games advantage initially but in the end ended up losing one and drawing one. ZB ... losing my touch, seriously cannot stop playing chess, i stopped playing for a week and i deproved until liddat ... Well, Mr Low's really a nice guy, treated me lunch and gave me a ride home tt day =).

Something is really wrong with me, walked into a girls toilet today without realising it until one lady who was coming out of the toilet was "kind" enough to remind me =( . Argh, damn xia suay =( . Can never forget the tone with which she said "Excuse me, this is a girls toilet". Grrrrrr ... going crazy ...

Had SP chess challenge for the weekend, HCI A, consisting of zixian, leslie and mi got champion for the college/poly category!! YAY! That marks the 2nd championship we got for this yr =) .

Well, I supposed everything turned out fine after all, the 3 of us were not actually on form. During the week before the competition we had numerous practice sessions and nvr once we failed to ask a stupid question or make a stupid move ... It seemed very likely tt this competition would turn out quite screwed, but seems tt we are cleverer under competition conditions.

A lot of unhappy things happened last wk as well, com broke down, block tests results etc. Had no competition mood at all and true enough I lost my third game with Ji Fang, a RV player on the first day. Now my personal record with him is 1 win 1 draw 1 lose, he was so happy when he won mi, haha at least I helped someone make his day.

Second day was better, won all my games excluding the last one since the high school side threw us up. Competition was really intense, by the end of the first day, AJ was leading us by half a point (same scenario as Raffles Cup) but we overtook them on the 2nd day by winning them in a head on match =) . Furthermore, with SP hot on our heels, the high sch side juz threw us up in the last round, ensuring our champion position.

HCI simply owns --- For the Weiqi section, HCI got 1st,2nd,3rd in the secondary sch section, 1st and 3rd in the JC/Poly section. For the C chess section, HCI got 2nd and 3rd for the secondary sch section, 1st in the JC/Poly section. For the I chess section, HCI got 2nd in the secondary sch section. Because of this, HCI got the overall best performing sch award for both the secondary and JC/Poly section, hence winning the Ronnie Tan and Michael Siong's Challenge Trophy.

In addition congrats to Zixian and Liu Yang who got blitz champion for c chess and i chess respectively. Also to Jinxiang who got blitz 3rd for c chess.

Haha, well to make us more motivated to win on the 2nd day, zixian, leslie and I had an agreement that whoever fails to win had to treat the other members 10 Kitkats each. The victim for this agreement was Zixian, who accidentally lost his match with XianKai today, haha so 20 Kitkats for mi and leslie =) . Later on, we decided to change to Kinder Bueno since it's cheaper and nicer.

Zixian also selfdestructed himself by promising the sec 1/2 team tt he would award them $32 if they actually did well in an attempt to motivate them. In the end, the sec 1/2 team got 2nd in the sec sch section!! Surprisingly, they performed betta than their seniors ... Haha, money makes the world go round.

Some unhappy stuff happened during this competition as well. There was a major conflict between a RV and a SP player during the last round. The match was damn intense and both of them were moving so fast such tt both of them dropped clock without realising it, but the SP player realised it first and announced tt his opponent dropped clock first, but the RV player refuted by saying tt the SP player dropped clock as well. In the end, after a long unpleasant argument, the victory went to the SP player since he realised his opponent dropped clock first. SP and RV became enemies after this incident to the extent tt it seemed as though RV actually considered boycotting the prize presentation ceremony, even though they were champs for the sec sch section.

My cat high friend cried after losing his last match =( , shows how seriously he treats his matches ... Well dun feel too sad William, I oso cried after flying the wrong elephant in my match with Peng Fei during sec 3 blitz, still rmb how badly my coach scolded mi for tt ... Everyone tot I cried becoze of the scolding, but in fact it was the overwhelming disappointment with myself ... I suppose he feels the same way, but nvm everyone makes mistakes, juz make sure we learn from them. Even the top players have selfdestructed themselves many times, so juz dun feel too bad abt it ...

Haha, thnx to the competition I havent done anything for chem AA, tuts nor the website for PW ... AHHHHHHHHHH. Must get back to studies soon, or everyone will be after my blood.

OK, gtg now ...

PS ==> Apologies if I got the spelling for Michael "Siong" wrong ... nvr knew how it's spelt :S

Went to my sister's commencement ceremony this morning at the cost of missing my chess lesson =( . But nvm, it was quite worth it, you can say tt it's a really rare opportunity, attending someone else's commencement ceremony. Btw, my sis got first class honours! Pretty much the best you can get without furthering your studies.

Before the ceremony began, they showed many mini-interviews and videos. Showcasing the different faculties in NUS as well as the difficulties some of the graduates went through during their course. They even interviewed one guy who got a DOUBLE degree and asked him how he managed his time, and his ans was --- less slp. Sane guy ...

The ceremony was really an eye-opener. First, there was this presiding officer and then there's an emcee. Before a new group of graduates come up to receive their degree, the emcee would declare "Mr Presiding Officer, may I present upon you, the graduates under ----------- whose degree has just been recently conferred" (something along tt line). There were really many graduates, the whole presentation took abt an hour. In addition to that, there was many speeches made by ex graduates as well as the valedictorian (top graduate of the cohort).

The valedictorian's speech was damn zhai ... he gave an overview of uni life and went on to thank 3 people who made the most impact on his life --- his family, his best friend and his girlfriend. He ended off with a quote from Albert Einstein --- do not just strive to be a man of success, but strive to be a man of value, tt rounded up everything nicely and won much applause from the audience.

Took LOADS of photos after the ceremony. Here's a peek :)

Haiz, chem o test in 2 days time, argh!! Dun know y I am even studying, with all those PRCs around, maybe juz becoze I feel damn bu shuang whenever I think of the fact that I have spent the tuesdays in the first sem for nth ... K, on to Van der Waals' equations ... gd luck to jt as well, must get in together k? Argh, brain exploding already ...

Had junior-treat-senior session at Marche today, it was really fun and interesting ... only sad part was that I spent $35 (my senior and my share), ouch!! Sian, supposed to be only $30 one, but thanks to the service tax and 7% GST, ended up paying $5 more =(

Well, I ate pasta ($10.80), some potato thingy with sour cream ($4.20), snapple grape flavour ($2.80). The things there a bit cheap man ... and the pasta was just average and it cost $10.80! In the end got niaoed by a senior who ordered half a chicken for $8.20, and by the looks of it, it simply pawned the pasta inside out.

Haha, played a modified version of truth or dare after our meal with fellow exco members. Zixian bought an exceptionally sweet and dry bread for $1.50 which he could not finish, so we played truth or bread instead. The loser of zhong ji mi ma would have to either eat the bread(yucks!) or answer a question truthfully. Played the game for like close to 2 hours ... the bread was simply so appalling that everyone chose "truth" instead. From it, we found out a lot of interesting secrets about one other o.O. For example, my friend (not saying who) actually smsed a girl for 3 hours at night, one went to watch the TANK concert with a girl from his class, one had a crush on his classmate even since orientation etc ... Interesting quote I learnt from Zixian today, who takes CLL ==> 英雄难过美人关,过美人关的不是英雄?!?!?!?!?!?!?! So we should classify ourselves as 英雄 -_-"

Went home with our seniors after JTS, a surprising number of them actually lived in Bukit Batok ... Had a really nice chat with them on the train, on stuff like H3, PW and CLL. Interestingly, there was more interaction with the seniors in the train compared to in Marche. Haha, because the juniors were busy playing truth or bread among themselves.

Hmm, after tonight maybe I should stop calling myself innocent boy, anyway nobody believes it haha ...
